# Emerging Technology Predictions

What will the future look like considering the now?!

Below are my notes on various sectors and the key companies and technologies that will revolutionize the way humanity operates. This is a constant work in progress so it will likely never be completed, only ever reaching temporary finished states.

* People evolve... so to do their tools
* Good technology is multi-functional
* Software, AI, Automation and Robotics will be the key technologies of the future

### Transportation & Logistics

* Getting from point A to Point B
* We used run, ride horses and pull carriages
* Roads, Highways and Interstate systems have evolved based on the medium we travel
* Water, Ground and Air are the natural mediums for travel
* The steam engine was a major milestone
* Combustion engines on a chassis and wheels (Ford Motor Company)
* Engines just got better over time. More horsepower, faster and could pull more weight
* Not just transporting people, your transporting goods
* Why do we still use boats?
  * Can they carry more?
  * Are they faster?
* Fuel... how do we fuel our transportation?

Uber has a long term vision of a fully self driving fleet of cars. Imagine Netflix but for getting a ride.

Lyft is an Uber competitor.

Tesla is working on solar solutions and batteries in the energy category. It seems the market misunderstands Tesla by labeling them as an automotive company. Really they are a robotics, AI and sustainable energy company.

Robinhood makes investing easy for the average person.

### Healthcare & Biotech

Neuralink is working on brain computer interfaces that will restore prior functionality to people with seriously limiting disabilities, eventually they will make BCIs that give people super powers.

Neuralink has had two successful human trials. Both have quadrapalegia and have reported life transforming improvements after having the BCI installed.

* All this can be done through a computer

Gaming is going to trend towards the cloud. This allows you to play high end games through any browser, which removes the need for dedicated gaming hardware.
